Super Easy Chocolate Mousse
Every month should end with a sweet treat! And since we're fans of a fast payoff when it comes to chocolate, this recipe was perfect!
7 oz dark chocolate
¼ cup boiling water
½ cup heavy cream
½ tsp vanilla extract
Recipe serves 5.
Note: Do not double this recipe as it will not set properly. If you need to make more, you’ll need to make separate batches.
- Break up the dark chocolate into squares or small pieces and drop them into the blender.
- Add the boiling water. Blend for 30 seconds.
- Add the remaining ingredients. Blend for 15 seconds, pause to scrape down the sides.
- Blend until smooth.
- Pour into desert dishes or cups, and refrigerate until set (takes approximately 2 hours).
This mousse is really easy to make, and also customizable! Consider garnishing with berries and/or whipped cream. You could also freeze the mixture and make fudge pops! Play around with ingredients – maybe a drop of mint extract, or substitute the boiling water for hot coffee? A splash of Kahlua or Bailey’s might be tasty too (for those of you who are of age, of course). No matter what you do with this, it’s still chocolate, and it’s hard to go wrong. Enjoy!
